LATEST NEWS - FULLY BOOKED MARCH & APRIL, SELECT MAY DATES STILL AVAILABLE

We've been pretty busy recently and taking orders daily. As a result, we are now fully booked until mid May. We would advise giving us a minimum of two months notice for occasion cakes and three months for wedding cakes to avoid disappointment. Late orders may be accepted but not guaranteed.

A beautiful vintage wedding
Saturday, 12 March 2011 00:00

This was a wonderful wedding to design right from the very beginning. The couple knew the style of wedding they wanted, a vintage inspired theme and I had so much fun in designing the cakes for their special day. They decided that rather than have one stand with the cakes, they would prefer a mix of different stands on the table with a mix of lace, pearls and lace to co-ordinate with the whole theme. The couple's photographer had also supplied a couple of china teapots which looked lovely with sheet music cones, filled with little pink roses. All stands are available to hire. The best part of this was making the bride and groom toppers along with a little hamster, which was just the cutest! Different topper designs available, crafted from fondant.

I remember Rainbow and Button Moon....
Thursday, 10 March 2011 00:00

But ask me what the latest children's characters are and im a little bit stumped! So this week was my little nephew's 2nd birthday and when I asked what he likes the response was 'anything Waybuloo'. This in itself caused a few problems for me - is Waybuloo a character or the name of the programme? What did he/she/they look like? So I only had one option, to do a little bit of surfing and watching Cbeebies! I decided to make Nok Nok as I thought it was the cutest little thing i've ever seen. The cake was a vanilla sponge with raspberry and vanilla filling. Even though its a little fatter than the TV character (it needed to be to hold the weight of its head) it just meant a little more cake for everyone. This cake can be made in either a medium (60 people) or large size (80 people). Other characters are available (now I know who they all are!)

Another lovely wedding fayre
Saturday, 05 March 2011 00:00

This one was at Brookfield Hall in Bolton. It is a lovely venue and there were a number of fabulous stalls from magicians to hand designed invitations. I kept with the vintage inspired theme again but this time also displayed some mini cakes which are now also available for all events. They are a slightly larger size than cupcakes and a nice option should you want them for your dessert. Im really liking the vintage theme and it is popular this year's weddings. More pictures are displayed in the gallery.

Beautiful Shoes & Handags
Friday, 18 February 2011 00:00

Well its been a busy few weeks and i've been terrible at updating you all with my recent cakes. I will try harder! This cake was made for my brother's lovely girlfriend, Lisa. Now girls, I think we can all appreciate a beautiful shoe and Lisa has not just one, but many pairs of beautifulness - in fact, after a recent party at their house (and a few glasses of fizz) I made Lisa show me all of her shoes. Sadly, she has such dainty little feet and my monsters would go nowhere near, such a pity! So, to celebrate her birthday I thought it was only fitting to make a cake of shoes and matching handbag. The cake was caramel with a butterscotch filling. What a perfect night with the family celebrating her birthday and yummy cake to go with the glass (or two) of champers!

Amazing Photos
Tuesday, 08 February 2011 19:24

So after my disasterous few weeks of taking pictures, I have been sent these beautiful pictures taken by the lovely Caroline White from the Arley Hall Wedding Fayre. Caroline is also one of the prefered suppliers at Arley Hall and she very kindly took some pictures of my display. Let's just say it puts my attempts at photographing my cakes to shame! I've also added the other pictures Caroline took in the gallery. Take a look at Caroline's website for some of the lovely weddings she has photographed, simply beautiful! Arley Hall Wedding Preview
Monday, 31 January 2011 22:25

In my opinion, Arley Hall has got to be one of the most beautiful locations in Cheshire. It is such a perfect setting for any wedding celebration. I was honoured to be asked to be part of the preferred supplier list to Arley for my cakes and this weekend was so excited to be back to display such sweet delights. It was wonderful to meet so many lovely brides and grooms to be and to be honest, there's nothing better I like to talk about than cakes. Some of the ideas that the couples had were amazing and im delighted that I have the opportunity to design such cakes for the couples - such as a Hansel & Gretel/Retro Candy cake! I decided to carry on with the vintage theme and displayed a mix of cupcakes, mini cakes and tiered cakes. I must admit I took over a 100 sample mini cakes but they didn't last very long! If you would like more information on getting married at Arley Hall please take a look at their website (http://www.arleyweddings.com/index.html) and thank you to the lovely Caroline White (http://www.carolinewhitephotography.co.uk/) for taking some professional pictures for me - unlike my very amateur attempts on here!

Key Season Trend - Vintage Inspired
Saturday, 29 January 2011 00:00

So what's going to be big in 2011? Many of the bridal catwalks are displaying some gorgeous vintage inspired dresses with romantic lace, pearls and satin a key feature. Taking this inspiration, a number of vintage style cupcakes have been designed to co-ordinate beautifully with a vintage or shabby chic look wedding. There are more designs in the gallery - delicate lace butterflies, handmade roses and mixes of pastel colours. Beautiful also as a giftbox for a birthday or anniversary.

We Love Beautiful Shoes
Friday, 28 January 2011 00:00

It's terrible, i've completely been neglecting the poor website. Well with so much baking going on recently its been hard to keep up so im making a concious effort to add all the recent sweet delights that have recently been made. Starting with this one - and what better way than with a girl's best friend (well okay, maybe after diamonds!) a pair of Louboutin shoes! These were made for a 21st birthday party so something a little special was needed. The shoes were made out of sugarpaste with the co-ordinating box a double layer of vanilla and chocolate fudge - all sandwiched together with chocolate gananche buttercream. Now if only my feet would squeeze into these beauties, I would be one happy lady!
